BIA Focus on Public Policy Series:  Immigration Reform: Making it Work for New Hampshire Businesses

In this first event of the 2014 Focus on Public Policy Series, presented by Lincoln Financial Group, we will examine the issue of immigration reform.

Most experts agree our current system is broken. It isn't serving the needs of businesses or working for our economy. New Hampshire employers, particularly those in the advanced manufacturing/high technology and hospitality industries, are often unable to hire the individuals they need to support the demands of their business. One reason for this disconnect is that hiring caps that were set more than 20 years ago when our economy was one-third its current size have remained unchanged.

Our experts will speak to this complex issue, explaining what caused the broken system, what fixes are needed and how those fixes will benefit New Hampshire employers.

    Panelists include:

    • Jeff Lungren, director, congressional and public affairs, U.S. Chamber of Commerce
    • Mona Movafaghi, chair, immigration practice group, Drummond Woodsum & MacMahon
    • Kevin Morgan, CEO, GeoVisions

There is no cost to attend the luncheon for BIA, Capitol Connect, DRED, New Hampshire Lodging and Restaurant Association, SHRM, Ski NH, and World Affairs Council members but seating is limited and reservations are required. Please contact Larkin Gause at 603.224.5388 x116 for more information.
