Board of Directors Meeting
February 26, 2021 (8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.)
The Board of Directors Meeting was a Zoom Meeting due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Present: Andrea Chatfield, Jeannie DiBella, Kristine DiFiore, Todd Fernald, Jennifer Horton, Hope Kelly, Carol Kilmister, Jenn Kinville, Jessica Locke, Catharine Mirabile, Jermaine Moore, Peter Richard, Sarah Rossetti, Amy Sabato, Tina Sharby, Dianna Sporcic from SHRM, Peter Stoehr, Karin Taylor, Linda Tuells, David Twitchell and Amy Wright.
Absent: Mara Bradbury, Tim Dabrieo and Michelle Gray
Linda Tuells – Secretary
The meeting minutes of the December 4, 2020 meeting were voted on and approved unanimously, .Peter Stoehr motioned to accept and David Twitchell seconded the motion; all approved.
Jennifer Kinville – Treasurer
Jenn noted that there was a loss for the Granite State Conference for $33,000 due to having to pay some speakers in advance of the meeting.
The financials were voted on and approved unanimously. David Twitchell motioned to accept and Jessica Locke seconded the motion; all approved.
The following Treasurer Report was sent to the board for review prior to the meeting.

Catharine Mirabile – SHRM Northeast MAC Rep
Catharine presented an overview of the SHRM Volunteer Structure which included the SHRM Northeast MAC (Membership Advisory Council). Catharine represents the northeast region which includes 11 states.
Catharine also shared the overview of the role of the Board of Director roles of the members. The SHRM MEA is Kristy Parola for New Hampshire.
Tina Sharby – Director
Tina asked the board to review the NH State Directory and send any updates to Linda Tuells, Secretary. Tina also asked the board to look at their job descriptions for any updates in duties.
March is Diversity month and Tina asked the chapters to share topics or speakers on diversity anyone would be interested in with Jermaine or Jessica, Diversity Chairs.
The NH State Council would like to have a virtual networking event which would include either a wine tasting or a chef showing how to prepare a meal. This would be in place of our usual Meet and Greet in the early summer.
Tina would like to see representation of all chapters on the board of the NH State Council. If anyone knows someone that would be interested in becoming a board member, please let Tina know.
Kristine DiFiore will take on the role of Director of the Leadership Conference. The Leadership Conference will be about strategic planning and will be sometime during the week of April 26. Tina will be sending out information to the Board.
The Twin State Conference will be on September 14, 15 and 17 and will be a virtual event. Green Tree is helping to coordinate the conference.
Diana Sporcic - SHRM
Dianna spoke about the following:
- State Council needs to provide dual membership goals by March 15, 2021.
- Workplace Policy Conference will be virtual.
- June 20 – 23 – SHRM National in Chicago
- Tune in Tuesdays – different topic every other Tuesday
- SHRM Talent Conference Expo - August 22 – 26 in person and virtual
- Inclusion 2021 - October 25 – 27, Austin, Texas
- Excel app is due by March 15, 2021. One of them has to be on a membership initiative
- Recommended looking at the Pinnacle Award Webcast
Michelle Gray – Website
Michelle was unable to attend the meeting and Tina stated that Michelle created some information for meetings and historical data. It is a living document for historical data.
Hope Kelly – Certification Director
Hope introduced herself as the past President of MAHRA and the new Certification Director for the NH State Council.
Hope stated that she sent some media information on certification to the Presidents of the chapters.
Sarah Rossetti – Workforce Readiness
Sarah stated that she only has 2 active members on her committee and needs more committee members.
If any organization is interested in an HR apprenticeship program, please let Sarah know.
Jenn Horton – SHRM Foundation
Jenn Horton will review a webinar on the SHRM Foundation
Jermaine Moore and Jessica Locke – Diversity
There will be a Diversity Conference from March 9 – 11. Jermaine will be connecting with chapters to see where the Diversity Workforce Coalition relates to the chapters
Jessica will reach out to Chapter Presidents to see where they can be a resource to chapters.
Andrea Chatfield – Legislation
Andrea will be coordinating a series of webinars versus having the Legislative Conference this year. The presenters will be from the Department of Labor, Human Rights Commission and Employment Security. April 1 will be the first series. Andrea is putting together a small committee to help with these webinars.
Legislative Update
- Right to Work bill. Keeping an eye on the legislation
- Lactation Breaks
- There are a lot of changes on the federal side
- Minimum wage to $15.00 an hour is in review
- PRO Act – unionization bill
Chapter News
Amy Wright – MONADNOCK
Their March meeting is already scheduled. It has been a challenge to engage their volunteers and they are struggling with sponsors.
Peter Richard – MAHRA
MAHRA has a new communication chair. Their meetings will be virtual and their meeting attendance has stabilized. MAHRA is partnering with The Chamber of Commerce.
Todd Fernald – SHRA
It has been business as usual. They cancelled their March meeting to allow their members to go to the DWC. SHRA had an online auction for March for SHRM.
Amy Sabato – GMVHRA
The Chapter President sent a thank you to the members for being an HR Hero and a gift certificate to go get coffee.
Carol Kilmister - HRAGC
It is business as usual. They are in the process of creating a budget for this year.
Karin Taylor – GNHRA
They will be conducting meeting virtually until September. It has been a struggle to engage members during the pandemic to attend the meetings.

Peter Stoehr made the motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Jessica Locke and approved unanimously.
