December 2021 Meeting Minutes

    Board of Directors Meeting

     December 10, 2021 (8:00 a.m. to 9:25 a.m.)

    The Board of Directors Meeting was a Zoom Meeting due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Present:  Andrea Chatfield, Tim Dabrieo, Todd Fernald, Jennifer Horton, Hope Kelly, Carol Kilmister, Jenn Kinville, Catharine Mirabile, Amy Sabato, Tina Sharby, Dianna Sporcic, Linda Tuells, Dave Twitchell and Amy Wright.  

    Absent:   Mara Bradbury, Jeannie DiBella, Kristine DiFiore, Michelle Gray, Jessica Locke, Jermaine Moore, Peter Richard, Sarah Rossetti, Peter Stoehr and Karin Taylor. 

    Linda Tuells – Secretary

    The meeting minutes of the October 29, 2021 meeting were voted on and approved unanimously, .David Twitchell motioned to accept and Hope Kelly seconded the motion; all approved. 

    Jennifer Kinville – Treasurer

    Jenn stated that the financials were quiet in the form of transactions.  She received $2,000 from SHRM.  Jenn mentioned that Green Tree needs to be budget neutral and not have the State Council pay anyone to help us organize meetings.

    The financials were voted on and approved unanimously.  Tim Dabrieo motioned to accept and Amy Sabato seconded the motion; all approved. 

    The following Treasurer Report was sent to the board for review prior to the meeting.

    • SHRM – Regional Meeting February 17 – 19, Amelia Island, FL

    State Council Director, Membership Director and Director Elect are invited

    It was noted that people are getting burnt out with zoom meetings and, if possible, depending on the pandemic this meeting should be in person.

    • Chapter Meetings – Tina asked the chapter presidents to let her know when their meetings are so she can attend the meeting.
    • Sarah Rossetti, Workforce Readiness – Sarah would like representation from across the state on this committee.    
    • Succession Planning – Planning is in process for the NH State Council Board openings. 
    • By-laws – SHRM is still reviewing the by-laws.
    • CLIF – Each of the local chapters needs to send it to SHRM.  The Nashua chapter’s CLIF is still pending.   Tina will reach out to them as a reminder.  
    • SHAPE – due by January 31

    Upcoming Conferences and Events

    • April Leadership Conference – 1 day conference April 19 or April 20
    • GSHRC – September at the DoubleTree, Manchester, NH
    • Destination GSHRC in 2023 – 2-day event being considered
    • NH State Council Gala – A committee needs to be formed to start planning the program
    • SHRM NE Cruise Conference – Sailing event for 5 nights with an overnight stay in Bermuda

    MAC – Interfaces with the State Council

    VLRC – There is a new version through the SHRM website, VLRC.SHRM.org, which has more detailed information

    Dianna Sporcic – SHRM

    • SHAPE – due 1/31/22 for all chapters
    • Dual Membership – member of SHRM and a local chapter
    • Excel – Chapters are required to submit a dual membership action plan by 3/15/2022
    • New Board Orientation – series is located on SHRM in the learning library
    • APM – Affiliate Postal Management for chapter presidents, membership and president elects.
    • SHRM 2022 – volunteer leaders receive 20% off their SHRM membership

    Hope Kelly – Certification Director

    Those that have a dual membership will receive $50 off the SHRM Certification Exam fee.  The applicant must be an active member of both SHRM national and a local chapter. 

    Andrea ChatfieldLegislative Director

    • Andrea sat on the panel at the Leadership Conference regarding vaccine updates.   Andrea promoted the HR State Council
    • Andrea asked for ideas to do something different than a Leadership Conference to get more HR professionals engaged with the legislative process.   Andrea recommended taking 3 or 4 legislative bills and follow them through.   Andrea will start a committee to poll HR professionals to see what they would be interested in.   The top bills include COVID, vaccines, earned time and work schedules.

    Chapter News

    Amy Wright – MONADNOCK

    Their chapter meetings will stay virtual through June. 

    In February, they will have a virtual active shooter training session. 

    Hope Kelly – MAHRA

    MAHRA will be going virtual for the January legal update meeting.   They will be taking a wait and see approach for the February meetings and beyond.   MAHRA will be sponsoring a session or speaker at the DWC Conference.  

    MAHRA’s Professional Development position is currently vacant.

    Amy Sabato – GMVHRA

    They are working on succession planning.  

     Carol Kilmister – HRAGC

    HRAGC is working on the audit response for SHAPE and Excel.  They have met their dual membership goals.

    Amy Wright made the motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Hope Kelly and approved unanimously.

    Tina will review the 2022 calendar and send a meeting update to all board members.
