    Recruiting during a pandemic – A Panel Discussion:

    Join GNHRA for an interactive panel discussion on Recruiting with career development professionals from different industries discussing challenges and resources that have been helpful in recruiting talent during this talent shortage.  With unemployment being an all time low, how do we attract and retain talent?  The panel will be moderated by Jessica LaPaglia, Regional Director of Leddy Group.  Jessica is the Programs chairperson of GNHRA with over 25 years of experience recruiting talent. This panel will share their successes, challenges, tips, and tricks.  During this meeting participants will be able to ask questions and share their experiences as well! 

    MEET THE PANELISTS:

    Amy Mayo is the Human Resources Manager for PROCON LLC, an award-winning architectural and construction management firm based in Hooksett, New Hampshire.  At PROCON, Amy is responsible for leading all HR functions and initiatives working alongside Executive Leadership to develop strategic people strategies and support organizational growth.  As a tenured HR professional, Amy has served a variety of workgroups, both large and small, from front-line to C-Suite, in a variety of industries. Throughout her career, she has designed and facilitated training for current and future organizational leaders, built corporate leadership programs, spearheaded talent acquisition, and employee retention efforts, and successfully led culture transformations improving employee satisfaction levels, employee loyalty, and engagement. Amy’s passion is sharing her knowledge to help others grow and succeed. Capitalizing on her robust background and experience in people operations, training, and leadership, she specializes in people first philosophies. Amy holds a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management and earned her MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. She is a senior certified professional through SHRM (SHRM-SCP), and a member of Toastmasters international holding her CC and CL designations. Amy is also a facilitator for leadership and development training, sits on the board of the Manchester Area Human Resources Association and is a member of the advisory council for Governor Sununu’s Recovery Friendly Workplace initiative.

     

    Doug Cullen currently spearheads career and workforce development functions at Pinkerton Academy in Derry, New Hampshire as the Manager of Career Services. This role enables him to provide short- and long-range career and college planning assistance in partnership with Pinkerton’s School Counseling and Career and Technical Education staff for Pinkerton students across 5 distinct New Hampshire communities. He also provides students an opportunity to connect to New Hampshire businesses through Pinkerton’s over 1000 extended learning opportunities with over 500 community partners.  As such, Cullen was a 2015 recipient of the Pinkerton Academy Alan B. Shepard Award for exceptional contributions to the Pinkerton school community and in early 2017 was nominated for the New Hampshire Extended Learning Opportunity Coordinator of the Year Award by the New Hampshire Excellence in Education Awards.  He has also been nominated twice for the National Career Development Association's Outstanding Career Practitioner Award, an award established to recognize practicing career counselors and career service providers for outstanding performance and best practices in the day-to-day services they provide across Higher Education, K-12, Private Practice &/or Consulting, Business/Industry, Government or Non-profit/Community Organization settings.  Mr. Cullen was selected as the Vermont/New Hampshire Career Development Association’s first President, the National Career Development Association’s (NCDA) newest chapter in July 2016 and is returning as its President July 2021.  In August 2017, Cullen was selected as the newest member of the national Association of Career and Technical (ACTE) Middle School Advisory Group, a national gathering of professionals that provides input on appropriate career development support for middle school career and technical education programs throughout the country.   He was a past member of the Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and was Chair of that Chamber’s Education Committee. He is currently an College President Advisory Committee Member for Manchester Community College in Manchester, New Hampshire.   He holds active credentials as a Global Career Development Facilitator, a Certified Master of Career Services, and Certified School Career Development Advisor.  With over 30 years of experience in business and education focused on business and partnership development his background also includes supporting the information technology needs of various sized companies in North America and Europe in many industries such as Insurance, Secondary and Higher Education, Manufacturing and Biotechnology. Cullen frequently appears in written and broadcast media throughout Hampshire and appears before N.H. House, Senate, and Administrative hearings advocating for better educational solutions that include strengthening community partnerships and workforce development efforts.

    Becky Fecteau is a Regional Director with Leddy Group and oversees the Industrial and Skilled Manufacturing staffing division for Southern NH.  She joined the company in 2008 doing a variety of recruiting positions for both internal and external clients.  Becky leads and manages the divisions for our Dover, Bedford and Concord offices.  Previous to Leddy Group, she spent a decade managing at a Fortune 500 payroll service company, Becky has spent her entire working career working closely with businesses, HR departments, and recruiting talent.  Leddy Group has been putting the right people in the right positions since 1994 specializing in a variety of disciplines including Accounting & Finance, Administrative, Engineering, Human Resources, Industrial and Skilled Manufacturing.
