    Program Summary:

One unfortunately common issue that adversely affects many workplaces is office politics - a destructive type of political maneuvering. When a person works to pursue their own agenda and interests, without any consideration of the consequences for their coworkers or their company, that is the essence of office politics. Common tactics of "office politicians" include gossip, brazen sucking up to superiors and colleagues, stealing credit while deflecting blame, and manipulation. The consequences of office politics can be downright destructive, as it's a key cause of employee disengagement. However, while office politics may be a workplace fact of life, containing or controlling it is possible. In this session, you'll learn how to identify office politics, the correlation to employee unhappiness and disengagement, and strategies to save your company culture before it becomes more cutthroat than a political campaign.
