FLSA: Would Your Company Survive an Audit?
The US Dept. of Labor (DOL), which is responsible for enforcing the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) estimates that approximately 70% of employers are not in compliance with the FLSA. Common pitfalls include worker misclassification and failure to pay employees for all time worked. FLSA compliance audits can arise as a result of a complaint filed by an employee or by the DOL on its own initiative.
Join us on Thursday, August 29, from 9 – 10 am, as attorneys from Jackson Lewis discuss: what to expect from a DOL audit, common mistakes which may expose an employer to an audit, and best practices to ensure FLSA compliance so as to avoid an audit. (Jackson Lewis LLP is a national law firm that partners with employers to devise policies and procedures that promote constructive employee relations and limit disputes.)
