Performance Evaluations - Are they a thing of the past? The argument goes on, do performance evaluations actually help employees improve or do they demotivate employees by focusing on past problems? Are they doing more harm than good? Completing a performance evaluation takes valuable time that many mangers do not have. So we have to ask, can a manager change the way an employee performs through the performance evaluation process? If performance evaluations are abolished, what, if anything, should take their place? During this program we will discuss both sides of the issue and look at ways that we can effectively motivate employees to do their best work. We will discuss the value of the performance evaluation process and how it can be done right. Then we will look at alternative ways to provide feedback that will motivate employees to be the best they can be.
