April 30, 2021 Meeting Minutes


    Board of Directors Meeting

     April 30, 2021 (8:05 a.m. to 9:30 a.m)

    The Board of Directors Meeting was a Zoom Meeting due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Present:  Mara Bradbury, Andrea Chatfield, Jeannie DiBella, Kristine DiFiore, Todd Fernald, Hope Kelly,  Jenn Kinville, Catharine Mirabile, Jermaine Moore, Peter Richard, Sarah Rossetti, Amy Sabato, Tina Sharby, Dianna Sporcic from SHRM, Peter Stoehr, Karin Taylor, Linda Tuells, David Twitchell and Amy Wright.

    Absent:   Tim Dabrieo, Michelle Gray, Jennifer Horton, Carol Kilmister and Jessica Locke

    The meeting minutes of the February 26, 2021 meeting were voted on and approved unanimously,  .Peter Stoehr motioned to accept and David Twitchell seconded the motion; all approved. 

    Jennifer Kinville – Treasurer

    Jenn noted that she received $362.50 from SHRM support and was unsure what it was for.      Diana Sporcic will follow up on the specifics of the payment.      

    The financials were voted on and approved unanimously.  Todd Fernald motioned to accept and Andrea Chatfield seconded the motion; all approved. 

    The following Treasurer Report was sent to the board for review prior to the meeting.

    Diana Sporcic - SHRM

    Diana spoke about the following:

    • Together Forward @ Work Initiative was rolled out in 2020. 
    • CLA “Difficult Conversations” will be on June 9
    • Update your Chapter/State Council Volunteer Leader List with the Volunteer Leader Information Update Form. 
    • Dual membership goals are due by May 18. 
    • 6 month complimentary SHRM membership offered to those that were not a SHRM member    
    • Certification update – Minimum timeframe for educational activities have been changed from 1 hour to 15 minutes.
    • Earn PDC’s for work projects
    • SHRM Foundation Ambassador Program
    • SHRM Annual Conference & Expo - September 9 – 12 – Las Vegas (virtual and in person)
    • Tune in Tuesdays – 2nd Tuesday of each month
    • Inclusion 2021 - October 25 – 27
    • SHRM Volunteer Leaders Business Meeting (VLBM) November 11 – 13

    Catharine Mirabile – SHRM Northeast MAC Rep

    Catharine asked if everyone received the MAC survey.   Most of the Board mentioned they did not and Catharine will ask that this be resent.

    Andrea Chatfield – Legislation   

    The 3 Advocacy Series Seminars have been scheduled

    NH Department of Labor - The webinar on April 1 was well received.      

    NH Employment Security – Scheduled for May 6 with Richard Lavers

    Human Rights Commission – Scheduled for June 3

    3 Legislative Issues

    • HB 544 – Divisive Concepts Bill
    • HB and SB prohibit employees from mandating vaccines. 
    • Right to Work Bill

    You cannot force an employee to join a union.Employers would be required to turn over their employee’s name/address/salary to unionsThe bill would allow secondary boycott

    Tina Sharby – Director

    HR Summit will have break-out speakers.   It will be in person for those attendees that are comfortable.  Tina is looking at venues and the programming portion is about finished.

    The June HR State Council networking event will be in person at an outdoor location.

    Tina is making the edits to the position descriptions and once completed will send the results to everyone.    Michelle will upload the file to google docs. 

    Orientation Deck – Tina is reviewing the SHRM deck to give to the new Board Members as a reference.  

    Tina indicated she wants to attend one chapter meeting for each of the NH chapters.

    The guidelines for each of the chapter websites will be reviewed to determine what should be posted on the websites.  

    Hope Kelly – Certification Director

    There was one scholarship applicant from the Monadnock SHRM Chapter awarded.

    Sarah Rossetti – Workforce Readiness

    The Workforce Readiness Committee is preparing a LinkedIn page to host the pilot of the Membership Program.  They have spoken with Granite State College to participate in the pilot on the mentee side of things.    Once this page is built and communication set up and approved by Tina, it will be shared with chapters.   .  

    Jermaine Moore– Diversity

    Jermaine noted there are no new updates.

    Jeannie DiBella – Membership

    Jeannie reminded membership chairs to stay focused on the Dual Membership goals.   An e-mail was sent to the membership chairs regarding CLA on the 18th.   There is a complimentary membership if anyone is interested.

    Chapter News

    Amy Wright – MONADNOCK

    Amy stated she wanted to meet with chapter presidents to see how other chapters are going hybrid with their meetings.

    GMSHRM received the Excel Platinum Award.

    Peter Richard – MAHRA

    MAHRA hopes to have an in person board event and they are considering going hybrid with MAHRA meetings in the fall.

    MAHRA received the Excel Platinum Award.

    Todd Fernald – SHRA

    Todd stated he hopes to have live meetings in September.

    SHRA was awarded the Platinum Excel Award

    Amy Sabato – GMVHRA

    They are planning for the fall and are considering the hybrid option.

    GMVHRA received the Platinum Excel Award.  

    Mara Bradbury - HRAGC

    They are rounding out the program year and on May 20 will have a virtual networking event.

    HRAGC received the Platinum Excel Award

    Adjourn

    Peter Richard made the motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Todd Fernald and approved unanimously.
