The Connecticut SHRM State Council invites you to join us on Friday, June 17th from 1pm - 2pm EST (10am - 11am PST) for a special online legal update by Michael Soltis, Office Managing Principal, and Jennifer Schancupp, Of Counsel, with Jackson Lewis.
This program has been approved for 1 HRCI General Credit and 1 SHRM Professional Development Credit.
Synopsis:
Employers of 15 or more employees have an obligation under the Americans with Disabilities Act to make reasonable accommodations which permit individuals with disabilities to perform their jobs. A reasonable accommodation is, generally, "any change in the work environment or in the way things are customarily done that enables an individual with a disability to enjoy equal employment opportunity." What does this mean? Is the meaning of what is a reasonable accommodation a moving target depending on the circumstances? Join us as we discuss recent developments on reasonable accommodations, including telecommuting, chemical sensitivities, and leave. Our discussion will address the long-awaited guidance from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission - issued on May 9, 2016 -- on leave as a reasonable accommodation.
