Tina Sharby – DWC
$5,000 was requested by the DWC. It was voted on and approved at the December Board Meeting. There was confusion on the line item for the budget item for this, it was a budgeted item for 2017 but not for 2018. Due to the fact the State Council is running over budget for 2018, currently, we decided it would be in the best interest of the State Council to review a request on a quarterly basis and the total amount would most likely be much less than $5000 due to the budget constraints. Dawn Barker proposed that the DWC consider soliciting funds from the chapters instead of the State Council. This will also be considered in the future.
Tina spoke on funds needed for the DWC. There are 44 members currently on the DWC. Tina stated it is critical to receive the money. Perhaps the State Council could be an event sponsor or financial sponsor for the DWC.
It was decided that a formal proposal be sent from the DWC each quarter to the State Council for how much is needed and what the funds are being used for. Also, a call for support will be sent out to each of the chapters.
It was recommended that the chapters send board members to the DWC meetings to bring marketing information back to organzations.
John Wilson stated that each chapter is paying membership dues to the DWC and more aim should be brought to the chapters for funding.
